Most families have fall traditions. Ours involves mind reading, impossible illusions, and a theater full of bewildered, amazed strangers.
Every year, our family-run company walks into our Salem theater and asks an interesting question.
How will we make people believe the impossible this time?
For 16 years, The Salem Haunted Magic Show has been our family’s wonderfully strange contribution to the Salem experience. What began as a live magic show has grown into an annual tradition filled with mystery, mind reading, laughter, suspense, and moments that make an entire audience wonder, Wait…how is that possible?
And every year, we start over.
We don’t simply dust off last year’s props, change the date on the poster, and call it a new season.
We devise and construct an entirely new production.
A new theme. A new story. New mysteries. New illusions.
For 2026, that production is The Salem Haunted Magic Show presents HYSTERIA: The Ghost Psychic!
A Different Kind of Salem Experience
HYSTERIA: The Ghost Psychic! explores the strange world of psychics, mind readers, unexplained phenomena, and the uncomfortable question of what might happen if someone really could read your mind.
But this isn’t a show where you simply sit quietly in the dark and watch things happen onstage.
The audience is 100% part of the show!
People make decisions. They think of names, places, drawings, and pieces of information that should be impossible for anyone else to know.
Sometimes someone comes onstage. Sometimes something happens in the audience. Sometimes the entire direction of a routine changes because of one unexpected response.
That unpredictability is one of our favorite parts.
You could attend HYSTERIA: The Ghost Psychic! twice in the same day and not see the same performance.
The illusions may begin in the same place, but the people are different. Their choices and reactions are different. Because so much of the show is interactive, those differences send us down slightly different roads every time.
Built by a Family
The family element of The Salem Haunted Magic Show matters a lot to us.
This isn’t a production created somewhere else and dropped into Salem every October.
Our family has spent 16 years creating, producing, performing, decorating, hauling equipment, building props, testing ideas, and occasionally staring backstage, wondering why something worked perfectly and now it doesn’t.
There’s something special about knowing the experience you’re watching was actually made by the people presenting it.
Many things you see onstage began as sketches, strange ideas, pieces of wood, electronics, or the dangerous phrase every creative family knows too well…
“I have an idea.”
Months later, somehow, there’s a show.
Sixteen Years — Always Reinventing
One of the most rewarding parts of 16 years in Salem is seeing people make the show part of their own traditions. We welcome hundreds of return customers every season.
That means we owe them something new and exciting. It would be easier to repeat the hits. But we’d rather do it right!
Every season is another opportunity to experiment, build something we’ve never attempted before, and surprise an audience that may think they already know what a magic show looks like.
Because after 16 years, we’ve learned the secret isn’t simply fooling people.
This season’s show focuses on the mysterious world of psychics and psychic abilities. You’ll join us for 75 minutes and be blown away by impossible demonstrations of magic, mind reading, ESP, and bizarre examples of psychic phenomena!
No mind is safe in our shows!
And in 2026, we call it HYSTERIA: The Ghost Psychic! Join us, won’t you?
