The independent Salem boutique Emporium 32 is run by wife and husband team Jillian and Nick Perry. The business came into fruition in 2009 after the financial crisis, and the brick and mortar location was established in Salem in 2016. The two owners decided that they wanted to turn their passions for antiques, steampunk, classic style, and their past as former renaissance performers into a tangible shopping experience. The goal when people walk through their store is to be “transported back to the classic Main Street department stores of bygone days” says owners Jillian and Nick.

The first thing that catches the eye when walking into the Emporium 32 store is the eclectic selection of multi colored items waiting to be explored. The store boasts a selection of trinkets, accessories, clothing, grooming necessities, speakeasy accoutrement, and so much more. The beauty of the Emporium 32 store is that they house over 130 different independent artists and small businesses creating a community space for creatives to display and sell their meticulously made creations. Not only does Emporium 32 act as a hub for these works and goods, but they also sell their very own high end line of items. The Perry duo has worked tirelessly to curate their collection of jewelry, art prints, and leather works forged in the style of their own unique and luxurious aesthetic.

For those looking for something beyond the realm of realism, Emporium 32’s house fortune teller Zoltar can guide you through the world of mysticism. Gaze deeply into Zoltar’s crystal ball and peel back the thick curtain of your subconscious and discover the meaning behind time and reality! Well, Emporium 32 can’t actually promise that Zoltar will tell you the meaning of time, but he will predict your future! For just a dollar Zoltar will give you a fortune reading unlike any other that you will receive here in Salem, Massachusetts. This is all part of the experience that the Emporium 32 team creates when you enter their store. It isn’t just about the items for sale, even though they have a wonderful selection, it is about the atmosphere that is created from the moment that you walk in, until the moment you leave.

The success of the Emporium 32 store has been felt and celebrated throughout the Salem community, so much so that they will be opening a second location here in town. To the delight of both locals and visitors alike, Emporium 32 will be opening its doors at the Hawthorne Hotel with their latest store, 1925 At The Hawthorne Hotel. The historic establishment pairs beautifully with the luxurious and thoughtful brand that is Emporium 32. As with everything that the owners of Emporium 32 do, when embarking on the journey to their new space they put time and research into all of the little details. The Perry duo were inspired by the hotel itself and all of the wonders that came along with the Hawthorne Hotel and its history. “The journey was filled with lots of research about the history of the hotel itself” says owners Jillian and Nick when describing their news space. “We’ve always been fans of the art deco movement, and could think of no better theme for our shop. We proudly present to you, 1925 At The Hawthorne, named after our new home’s inaugural year”.
