On October 18 at 6:30 P.M., The House of the Seven Gables invites you to Hawthorne’s Halloween Bash, an exclusive costume party to celebrate the spooky season. Dress in your Halloween best as you wander the gardens of The House of the Seven Gables.
Interact with Mr. Hawthorne and his famous characters, explore the Hawthorne Birthplace and Hooper-Hathaway historic houses, dance to your favorite Halloween hits and enjoy original songs performed by Doctor Gasp and The Eeks! Be sure to check out the open bar and all-you-can-eat mac & cheese, document your night at the photo booth, win bragging rights in our best costume contest, and discover all sorts of surprises!
Tickets are $150 for Gables members and $180 for the public. Proceeds of the event benefit the creation of a new exhibit in the Nathaniel Hawthorne Birthplace that will inspire new generations of readers to discover this classic American author. The exhibit will feature original Hawthorne artifacts from our collections and archives, as well as interactive multimedia experiences. We will explore how Hawthorne’s hometown of Salem influenced his work; how he helped shape American horror and science fiction writing; and how his themes still resonate in the present day. Attending Hawthorne’s Halloween Bash is just one way you can bring this project to life!
