Reservations Required: How to Plan for October 2020 in Salem, Massachusetts
Due to public health guidelines and regulations that have been issued to keep everyone safe and healthy during COVID-19, the City of Salem is strongly encouraging visitors to have reservations or purchase tickets in advance of your visit. In addition, several Salem businesses are requiring you purchase tickets or make reservations in advance of arrival.
Here is a list of the businesses we know of that are requiring advance tickets or reservations. Please buy your tickets early, as many activities have been selling out on the weekends.
Museums & Attractions
Gallows Hill Theatre and The Lost Museum
Timed tickets are available for weekend shows at Gallows Hill and for the Lost Museum Adventure. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time online, or by using the QR code on the premises.
The House of the Seven Gables
Advanced tickets for the audio tour of the Historic Seaside Gardens are required and can be purchased at 7gables.org. (Please note, interior tours of The Gables are available at this time.)
Peabody Essex Museum
Timed tickets purchased online in advance required for entry. Capacity is very limited for The Salem Witch Trials 1692 and Salem Stories exhibition and access to these galleries is not guaranteed.
Salem Witch Museum
Timed tickets must be purchased online on the day of your visit.
Satanic Temple/Salem Art Gallery
Open by reservation only. Learn more at salemartgallery.com.
Advance tickets required; tickets go on sale on their website on Friday for the weekend.
Advanced and day of bookings may be made online (prepaid 24 hr cancel policy).
Trolley & Walking Tours
Please note, all walking tours are accepting reservations, however they are running on very limited capacities due to the state’s reopening requirements. Many tours have already sold out for the month of October, and more information on walking tours is available here. If you book a tour you are unable to make, please contact the tour company and cancel your reservation so another visitor may purchase the tickets.

Limited reservations Monday-Friday. No reservations on weekends except after 7:30 pm on Sundays. No reservations October 11, 30, and 31. Reservations after 7:30 pm only on October 12.
Sea Level Oyster Bar
Limited reservations Monday-Friday. No reservations on weekends except after 7:30 pm on Sundays. No reservations October 11, 30, and 31 and October 9 from 4 pm on. Reservations after 7:30 pm only on October 12.
