2024 Salem Haunted Happenings Free Satellite Parking & Shuttles

The City of Salem’s free October weekend shuttle returns on October 5. Visitors are strongly encouraged to utilize the free parking at the shuttle satellite lots and ride the free shuttle into downtown Salem.

Shuttles run October 5-6, October 12-14 (service provided on Indigenous Peoples’ Day), October 19-20, and October 26-27 from 10 am to 8 pm between three free satellite parking lots and Riley Plaza in downtown Salem. The shuttles run on a continuous loop between the origin and destination points during the service hours.

FOR HALLOWEEN DAY ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31: Service will be provided from Salem High School to downtown from 2:00pm to 8:00pm and from Salem State University’s O’Keefe Center parking lot from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
NO PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT 108 JEFFERSON AVENUE ON OCTOBER 31.

Park for free at any one of the three free satellite parking lots – Salem State University’s O’Keefe Center parking lot (225 Canal Street), Salem High School (77 Willson Street), and 108 Jefferson Avenue behind Salem Hospital.

Together the three satellite lots offer more than 1,300 spaces free parking spaces. The downtown pick-up/drop-off location is in Riley Plaza.

An accessible shuttle is available for those who require one – on Route A with service to/from Salem High School, 108 Jefferson Ave, and Riley Plaza.

Route A: Salem High School (77 Willson Street) / Jefferson Ave (108 Jefferson Ave)

Route B: Salem State University’s O’Keefe Center parking lot (225 Canal Street) / (108 Jefferson Ave)

Both Routes: 108 Jefferson Avenue behind Salem Hospital

NOTE: Only the lot at 108 Jefferson Avenue is available for satellite shuttle parking. Vehicles parked for the shuttle in the other Salem Hospital lots or parked at 108 Jefferson Avenue outside of shuttle operational hours may be towed at the owner’s expense.

The downtown pick-up/drop-off location is at Riley Plaza, on Margin Street.
