Transportation

MBTA Commuter Rail connects Salem to Boston’s North Station via both the Newburyport and Rockport Lines. Walk from Salem Depot to downtown shopping, dining, attractions, and waterfront. Bus #450 from Haymarket, Bus #455 from Wonderland, Bus #456/#435 from Lynn.

On busy October weekends, we recommend parking near a neighboring station (Beverly and Lynn are the closest – Follow MBTA Parking on Twitter for capacity updates) and taking the train downtown. Once you arrive in Salem, you’ll be within walking distance of all Haunted Happenings festivities.

Weekend visitors can take advantage of the $10 Commuter Rail Weekends pass, which provides unlimited travel on the Commuter Rail for just $10.00 every weekend. Passes are valid on all lines and zones, Saturdays and Sundays.

Service Update: All passengers over the age of two must wear a face covering when traveling on trains or at all railroad stations. Anyone who does not comply could be denied boarding and could be subject to penalties.
