Family Friendly Haunts

Visitors of all ages flock to Salem for Haunted Happenings. Families love the Grand Parade, which is the official kick-off to the festival each year, and many families bring their kids for Halloween night. The question is, what do families do in between?

Here are a few suggestions

Wednesdays Promise Wicked Fun!

Salem Haunted Happenings includes Wicked Wednesdays that will be chock full of programming for kids. Bring the family for mid-week entertainment, musicians, family-friendly walking tours, and interactive events geared for the 12 and under crowd.

Trick-or-Treat is not just for Halloween

Trick-or-treat throughout the season with special kid-friendly events. Find candy at  Mayor's Night Out, or see pumpkins around town at the  Great Salem Pumpkin Walk.

Monsters be nice!

Several of the haunted houses offer a sliding scale of fear or a code word if things get too scary, and the 4-D fun at Gallows Hill Museum/Theatre's Witchcraft and Ghost Experience is fun for all ages. Sure, you might jump out of your seat once or twice, but the kids will love it!

Kids Fun Days

Salem Common features a free Saturday night movie series, with a different family-friendly film each week. Find out everything that's happening on the Common on our events calendar.
