For the Love of Trees III, History & Nature at Greenlawn
October 23, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Join us to support Phase II of the restoration of the 1894 Dickson Memorial Chapel. We will be selling our tee shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, ball caps and other items that day. All funds go toward the restoration of the Chapel.
Did you know there are apple, crabapple and possibly cherry & plum trees in Greenlawn? Come learn and hear all about the 1942 Greenlawn plant inventory list, some special trees in Greenlawn, the arboretum collaboration and some tree history!
We will also be sharing an update on the restoration of the 1894 Dickson Memorial Chapel. We are currently working on restoring two right side entrance stained glass windows.
Dr. Lisa Delissio, Charlie Lipson and Chris Burke will share the 1942 Greenlawn plant inventory list, some F. Carroll Sargent @ Greenlawn Cemetery arboretum updates, tree history and more.
Please come and appreciate one of Salem’s best hidden, beautiful, rural, historic gems, accredited arboretum and cemetery known as Greenlawn Cemetery.
This event is free. Donations are appreciated.
Please park along Orne Street or the neighboring streets if possible.
All current pandemic rules apply and masks are required in the Dickson Memorial Chapel. Viewing of the Chapel and our ability to be outside for this event is weather dependent. Fingers crossed it is a good day!
