Our neighbors are joining in on the Fall family festivities! This year, Long Hill in Beverly, MA is back with its beloved Halloween on the Hill celebration. If you are looking for an upbeat, fun, and festive event this Fall season outside of Salem, MA, Halloween on the Hill is the place for you. An abundance of uniquely carved pumpkins light your way as you discover new themes around each turn of the grounds of the Trustees’ property.

Starting along the path at Halloween on the Hill, excitement and Halloween merriment can be felt in the air. The hospitable staff greet you and point you in the direction of your journey as you set off on your October adventure. The family friendly event runs from September 29th to October 29th Wednesday through Sunday 5:30pm to 8:30pm with Sensory Friendly Hours on Fridays from 4pm to 5pm. The venue has over 1,000 hand carved pumpkins illuminating the night with Halloween decorations, light displays, music, and more. As guests make their way through the event following the outdoor path they will see fan favorite movie themes, a sunken pirate ship, and even an “active” volcano surrounded by glowing gourds!

Turning the corner along the winding path, adventurers will find themselves at the site of a shipwreck. A skeleton crew stands post around the wreckage of their once buoyant vessel. With eyepatches and hooked hands adorned, they patiently watch as passer goers take in the scene. If you look closely you may see some scallywags making their way over the edge of the ship for a chance at claiming the coveted buried treasure for their own! Purple light and cobwebs light up the masts of the ghost ship, with brightly glowing orange cannons pointed and at the ready. This truly is a fun experience for the entire family, with little jewels of excitement to be found for each individual adventuring along the winding path.

After passing by the pirates you may see the infamous Darth Vader defending a precisely placed patch of Star Wars themed jack-o-lanterns. Tie Fighters, a Death Star, and the cast of the iconic movie franchise keep the glowing red Darth Vader company as you join their forces towards a new hope! Those won’t be the only friends you encounter on your way through the pumpkin patch. Ghoulish gourds float along with you enticing you further down the road and onto the next display.

Turning around the bend near the top of the hill you will be greeted by spooky seasonal tunes and a warm tent with treats and hot beverages in abundance to quench your thirst. The kind staff offer cider donuts and a place to gather with your loved ones after making your way through the pumpkin patch path. A large display of pumpkins with Halloween on the Hill carefully spelled out provides the perfect backdrop for a selfie or group picture to remember your evening. Halloween on the hill is the perfect October evening activity for the entire family if you are looking to get some fresh air and enjoy a wholesome fall event. Something to keep in mind is that tickets must be purchased in advance of the event. So grab your cozy Autumn attire and spend an evening with the jack-o-lanterns at Halloween on the Hill.
