WELCOME to Salem Salem’s Haunted Happenings celebration is truly unique and I am sure you will have a great time. Our City is one of America’s most historic seaports, and in October we take the fun-filled
activities to even greater heights.
Spend some time exploring our historic waterfront, learn about Salem’s remarkable history in our museums and attractions, and enjoy our many terrific restaurants. From Haunted Happenings to Restaurant Week to Heritage Days, not to mention our many art, film, theater, and jazz festivals, Salem is a vibrant City with much to offer year-round.
While you are enjoying Salem, please be safe and mindful of your surroundings. Public safety is a top concern for us during October. Salem Police and other public safety officials are on duty to keep Salem safe throughout the month. If you see or hear something unusual, please call (978) 744-1212 or dial 911 for emergencies.
If you’re still planning your trip to Salem, we strongly encourage you to take the train or Ferry. Parking is significantly limited, especially in October.
Finally, part of what makes Salem a great place to visit is that it is a great place to live. We ask for your assistance in respecting our downtown residents, monitoring late-night noise levels, and respecting private and public property. Please be aware that the City does enforce local laws strictly in October, and many fines — including parking fines — increase significantly in October.
We all love October and the celebrations that it brings. By working together we can ensure a fun month for everyone.
From frights to sights, Salem has it all. Thanks for visiting Salem and we hope you return again soon. Happy Haunted Happenings!
